The president of the United States was quick to dismiss an article about his tweets criticizing a police officer who killed an African-American teenager in Minnesota on Saturday.
Trump’s response was to tweet a photo of himself with the young man.
He also wrote: “The victim of the shooting in Minnesota was a very fine young man with a great future.
He was just doing what any young man should do.”
Trump, who had previously criticized Minneapolis police, was retweeting a video of the incident.
Minnesota Police Chief Janee Harteau tweeted that the department would hold a press conference on Monday afternoon, a day after the incident took place.
